One dead, One caught

The end of one mystery in the 9th ward, the beginning of another (ie the trial)

Charles "Bird" Coleman, 34, whose last known address was 2037 Mather Drive, was booked with second-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of stolen property in the death of Marlon Turner, 26, of Harvey and the shooting of Kevin Adams, 41, of Marrero.

According to investigators, members of the NOPD's Violent Offender Warrant Squad received information from the Metropolitan Crime Commission about Coleman's location. NOPD officers found Coleman at about 9:30 a.m. in the 1400 block of Bartholomew Street with a handgun and a stolen vehicle. He was arrested without incident.

One dead

A young black male was found shot just to death near the corner of Second and Miro streets in the 6th Ward. Police were called to the scene at 2:25 p.m. and found the man face down on an overgrown sidewalk with gunshot wounds to the back. He was wearing a white shirt, jeans, and white basketball shoes. Police have released no other detail
