Big and Easy

A reminder to the poster who wrote the following:

"New Orleans murder blog 2009 as of 5/25 listed
83 murders. (They now list only an additional 2 although there have been more than 2 in the past week). There have now been 9 since that Orleans Parish alone. Riley just can't add."

We report any known murders in Orleans, Jefferson, and St. Bernard parishes, so the number you've got - 83 - may include murders outside Riley's domain. We don't keep our own statistics because we don't think this blog should be thought of as an authority on its subject matter. We just report whatever we hear or read about. Still, we know what you're saying.

A 40-year-old passenger was shot in the lower extremities. He was taken to a hospital in unknown condition. Jefferson, Murder, Shooting

3) A 20-year-old local man who was shot Sunday in the St. Roch neighborhood died from his injuries Wednesday at LSU Interim Public Hospital. David Jefferson died from a gunshot wound to his head.
