1. An unidentified man was in critical condition at a local hospital Sunday night after being shot several times.
Garry Flot, a spokesman for the New Orleans Police Department, said the shooting occurred near the intersection of Hickory and Leonidas streets. Police responded to a call from the hospital at 7:45 p.m.


2.Officers responding to a call found a van with its front tires up on the curb and Lopez pinned underneath it. He had apparently been hit and dragged by the van until he became wedged between it and the curb, Gallagher said.
He was pronounced dead on the scene. Witnesses told police that Lopez had been seen earlier in the day working under the hood of the van in the rear alley of an apartment building on Martinique Drive, adjacent to where the van was found.


3.A Marrero man died Sunday after being struck by a Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office vehicle after fleeing a traffic stop, authorities said.
Joseph Scott, 30, of 2164 Caddy Drive, was transported to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, the news release said.


4.A St. Tammany Parish sheriff's deputy shot a Madisonville man on Saturday afternoon after he called police threatening to commit suicide and then attacked several deputies with a claw hammer when they arrived on scene.

A comment suggests that NOMB take the weekend off. NOMB suggests the gunfighters take the weekend off.
