Minutes before a chance meeting of our editors this afternoon, one of us observed a man being detained - paddy wagon style - on the corner of Conti and Royal. Present were a generous 20 squad cars. Related? Can't say. Same street, close enough? That we can. Comments? We don't got none.

(While waiting outside the gym, our editors also got to hear a lovely recount of this Iberville incident. Complete with "I don't think that bullet was random.")

Tweens

We'll never know the answer why, but we know it's true in our guts. It's twice as tragic when children do the killing.

We don't know why, but when grown men settle their disputes with guns, we tend to let it slide. Slide as in we don't ruminate. If ya'll know what we mean.

1)Kenneth Davis Jr., 18, was shot to death Thursday night right outside the back door of his girlfriend's Algiers apartment.
