When NOMB's mother conspired to visit the city, she was referred to the blog. "But not where you're at?" she asks.

A 39-year-old local man was gunned down Friday afternoon while riding a bike near the Bywater neighborhood.
The man was traveling in the 1200 block of Gallier Street around 3:45 p.m. when he was shot several times in the body and legs and fell from his bike, said New Orleans Police Officer Garry Flot.

Also:
In an unrelated shooting, a local man was shot in the leg around 8:30 a.m. in the 1300 block of Frenchmen Street, police said. His wound was not believed to be serious, said police spokeswoman Sabrina Richardson.
