If your plan is to move to Jefferson and escape the carnage, you out of luck this week:
Chad Arceneaux, 34, was killed by a gunshot to the back in the 600 block of Emile Avenue near Westwego shortly before 11:30 p.m., said Deputy Chief Tom Gorman of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office. His son, who was sitting in the back seat at the time of the incident, was not injured.
They even taking shots at the law:
Deputy Joshua Norris, 22, was the first officer to arrive at 273 Southwood Drive. As he approached the house, he was shot once in the upper right chest, according to Chief Deputy Newell Norman.
Meanwhile, over here in Orleans, we got a rapist loose up town (according to the T.V. news), sirens every night, and the last only greatest big summer festival kicking off this weekend.
