Becasue it was Jazz Fest

This story had to wait until Monday to get some play on the TImes-Picayune Web site:

New Orleans police Sunday were investigating the shooting death of a man on South Claiborne Avenue.
Troy Dent, 22, of New Orleans, was shot Saturday about 11 p.m. at South Claiborne and Louisiana Avenue, John Gagliano, chief coroner's investigator said.

Also, NOMB is wondering where the report of the double shooting victims that were dragged into Turro on Sunday afternoon is? NOMB was walking a bike with a broken flat past the emergency room entrance when the men were brought in. This could be it, five clicks away from anywhere any one would notice. Buried in a one inch column of the third page of the metro sectio:

New Orleans police Sunday were investigating two shootings, one involving a carjacking.

The carjacking happened shortly after 2 p.m. in the 4500 block of Majestic Oaks Drive. A gunman approached a man in a car, police said. In the process of stealing the victim's red 2000 Alero, the gunman shot him once in the arm and once in the leg, said Sabrina Richardson, a police spokeswoman.
