About 90 minutes earlier, police found a 31-year-old man lying in an Algiers driveway with gunshot wounds to his arm and mouth. The shooting took place about 3 a.m. Thursday in the 3700 block of Preston Place. The man underwent surgery at a local hospital. Further details were not available, police said.
In another incident, a 32-year-old man was shot by his brother-in-law Wednesday night in eastern New Orleans, according to police.

About midnight, police responding to gunshots in Central City found a man with a stomach wound in the 2100 block of Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard. Neither his condition nor the circumstances of the shooting were released by police.
