1 Day Left

For those of you who care, or had maybe not noticed, the editors from NOMB have been out of the city for 2 weeks now, our longest stint away from home in 3 years. We've had a lot of explaining to do out on the road, about "the rebuilding," and "the crime," and the what-nots associated with that infinitely fascinating little burg. But, as time draws near for our return, we can't help but wonder, "Are we really going to climb back into this mess?" Hell we walked down the street for the first time in ages with our heads up. What a feeling that was.

A 23-year-old man was shot in the arm and stomach near the Orleans-Jefferson parish line on Thursday night, New Orleans police said.
About 9:30 p.m., 3rd District officers responding to a report of a male shot found the wounded man near the corner of Peach and Monroe streets, just off Airline Highway,

A shooting in Central City on Thursday night sent three people to the hospital in stable condition and left a fourth grazed by a bullet. Shortly before 6 p.m., 6th District officers responding to a call of a shooting found the victims near the corner of Magnolia and Felicity streets. The shooting happened outside, but at least one victim was taken out of a corner barbershop on a stretcher. He ran inside after being hit.

That makes five bullets with five names on them, people.
