One man was fatally shot and another critically wounded Tuesday afternoon in the St. Roch neighborhood.Both men were shot in the head shortly after noon inside a house in the 1300 block of St. Roch Avenue. Police found both men inside the house with gunshot wounds. Richon Jones, 21, died at the scene. Jones is the city's 25th homicide victim in 2008. The other man, whose identity was not released, was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

New Orleans police are investigating a shooting death in Algiers, the second slaying in New Orleans in Tuesday. At 9:28 p.m., police responded to a report of gunfire in the 2000 block of Elizardi Boulevard and found the victim in front of a house near Wall Boulevard. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
