Lately

1) About 3:30 a.m. Sunday, Demetrius Hamilton, 26, was shot while he was in the 8600 block of Apple Street in the Hollygrove neighborhood. He died at University Hospital less than an hour later.

2) A 58-year-old man who was shot in front of his 9th Ward home Sunday night has died at University Hospital. Willie Summers was shot multiple times at about 9:25 p.m. Sunday in the 3100 block of North Claiborne Avenue.

3) Donauwx J. Clark, 68, was found dead in his apartment at the senior citizens complex at 6440 Gen. Meyer Ave. in Algiers Monday afternoon. After EMS paramedics pronounced him dead, investigators began treating it as a homicide, namely because of the suspicious gap of time between Clark's last being seen with a stranger and his death.

4) A man fired a shotgun blast at the passenger of a car driving down an Irish Channel street late Sunday and caused a wreck.The car carrying the passenger came down the 900 block of Washington Avenue about 10:22 p.m. When the car approached the corner of Washington and Constance Street, a man toting a shotgun emerged from the driver side of a silver Infiniti parked at the intersection.


Updating sunday's: Police say that hours later, [Louise Declues'] 52-year-old son Tony DeClues confessed to killing her because he was short on drug money.
