1) Bracing for a $15 million federal court judgment that he inherited with the office, Orleans Parish District Attorney Leon Cannizzaro is looking at every option to avoid such a payout -- including bankruptcy.
2) Monday: The shooting took place at about 10:25 p.m. at the corner of North Dupre and St. Ann streets. The victim, a 46-year-old local man whose identity has not been released, was shot several times and was pronounced dead at the scene.
3) Saying that the police department must be purged of "trigger-happy" cops, a dozen local ministers called on Police Superintendent Warren Riley Tuesday to release the names of the nine undercover officers involved in the New Year's Day fatal shooting of 22-year-old Adolph Grimes III.
We're glad to hear the feds are involved. Really. And we're glad to hear people aren't letting this one go. They shouldn't. Still, the NOMB has grown wary of such fervor. We'll never be the ones to write justice off, but so often justice is off...

For your map - this homicide is being counted against this year but was actually committed last November.
On this day, Cayne Miceli was killed by the employees of OPP.
Cayne Miceli died in University Hospital on Jan 6 after coding in OPP on Jan 5. Of course, you can't die at OPP. She collapsed and became unresponsive while being restrained by deputies, according to T-P article. I suppose...we will see....
