Unclassified

We hope some day that our obituary reads like this:

Police are investigating an unclassified death on North Robertson Street and blocking all lanes of traffic in between Piety and Desire streets,

(later reports would indicate that "the victim had been stabbed several times and died at the scene") We can't help but notice that stabbings are going up. Is the heat making it easier to imagine ourselves participating in an impulse killing? Lord knows we could stab the next person who crosses Canal in front of us when we have the green light.

and not so much like this:

St. John the Baptist Parish authorities are investigating the death of a Mount Airy man who was found in the Mississippi River bound and gagged with tape. A tugboat operator discovered the body of Alfred Love, 47, in the river Friday near Reserve at about 7:35 p.m.

of course, when you consider the following report, our chances aren't so good down here in the NO L.A.

Lead exposure in children linked to violent crime
